Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday dubbed Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman as the "political savior" of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Expressing his thoughts, Kundi acknowledged the Rehman's struggle for the sake of uplifting the democracy. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stalwart had made it clear that President Asif Ali Zardari had asked Rehman for favor in connection with any bill.
"It is very normal for President Zardari to present gifts to the people, which helps to embrace closeness. Asif Ali Zardari and Maulana Fazlur Rehman are old friends," he said.
Taking a dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Kundi said: "The party's [PTI] own people do want to see the PTI founder get out of jail.".
He took a swipe at the KP chief minister, saying, "The chief minister should first take a vote of confidence prior to thinking about the vote of no-confidence motion."
"The PTI cannot hold the public gathering until our willingness," Kundi said.
