During the Battle of Lahore, Indian forces launched a nighttime attack with the ambition of capturing Lahore.
Despite the efforts of the 15th Indian Infantry Division, the assault was unsuccessful, causing significant agitation within the Indian High Command.
In response to the failure of the attacks, Indian General Niranjan Prasad was ordered to the front line to assess the situation. Unaware of the true conditions, Major General Prasad proceeded towards the BRB Canal at Wagah.
In a state of confusion, the Indian general fled the scene, abandoning his star plate and flagged jeep. Pakistani forces seized the general's vehicle, along with maps and war plans.
The jeep of Major General Niranjan Prasad has been preserved and is now on display at the Army Museum as a symbol of victory and a testament to the Pakistani Army's success in repelling the Indian offensive.
