Three Pakistani Army officers were martyred on the 11th day of the 1965 war against India. Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Rahman, Major Zia-ud-Din Ahmad Abbasi, and Lieutenant Hussain Shah lost their lives in combat on September 11, 1965.
Lt Col Abdul Rahman, serving as a commanding officer on the Sialkot front, was killed during an intense tank battle. He was posthumously awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat for his bravery.
Maj Zia-ud-Din Ahmad Abbasi was stationed in Sialkot, where India had launched a major offensive with the aim of capturing Wazirabad. Abbasi's leadership inflicted significant losses on the enemy before he was killed while standing on his tank. He was also awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat posthumously.
Lt Hussain Shah fought bravely against Indian forces before embracing martyrdom. He, too, was posthumously awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat for his valor.
These three officers' sacrifices are recorded in the history of the September 1965 war, highlighting the continued Pakistani resistance against Indian advances.
