Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that the consultations were the reason behind the delay in the National Assembly and Senate sessions.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Tarar said; "The constitutional amendment is a serious matter. All the political parties are taking on board their respective legal teams over the proposal of the constitutional amendment."
"Maulana Fazlur Rehman is consulting with the opposition parties, whereas we are contacting with the parties, part of the government," said Tarar.
"Access to justice is clearly emphasised in the charter of democracy. Our objective is to prioritise the interests of the masses," he said.
"The efforts underway to ensure the development over the constitutional amendment today," Tarar maintained.
He said: "When the constitutional amendment will be tabled with the consultations, then everybody will be pleased."
"Yesterday, the consultations were held with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and the proposal over the constitutional amendment with Maulana Fazlur Rehman was shared," Tarar said.
"We will unveil all the clauses of the proposed constitutional amendment after wrapping up the consultations," he added.
