Awam Pakistan Party (APP) convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi rebuked on Monday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, saying the latter had done nothing for the masses’ sake in three years.
Expressing his thoughts, the former prime minister asserted: “The efforts were made to bring the constitutional amendment in darkness.” He took a jibe at the incumbent government, saying, “The masses were facing hardships due to the government, but not the public gatherings.”
He said: “The amendment was not seen by any of the cabinet, Senate, or National Assembly members. The majority in the assembly was comprised of those who snatched the mandates.”
He stated: “The police from one district are staging the protest at the national highway. Do you have ever listened that the police who are responsible for providing protection to the citizens are themselves staging protests?”
Abbasi said: “The constitutional amendments are meant to gain interests and extend power.”
– PML-N is answerable on current country's situation, avers Abbasi –
Earlier on Sunday, Abbasi asserted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was answerable on the current situation of the country.
Expressing his thoughts, Abbasi said: "The bogus cases should not be made against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder. I also had to face the baseless allegations and was put behind bars."
"Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also having the demand to clear the air over the constitutional amendment," he said.
"It is the failure of the government that the masses are pouring on to the streets for the sake of their rights," Abbasi stated.
Speaking about the three-time prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, Abbasi said: "Nawaz Sharif is also the supremo of the PML-N."
"All the things should be cleared at the parliament," he stated.
