Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub said on Thursday that his party will stage a protest at D-Chowk at any cost.
Expressing his thoughts, he said: “Nobody can snatch the constitutional right from us. The cases that our party leaders are facing are all bogus.”
He took a jibe at the rulers, asserting, “The rulers are going for the constitutional amendment in a bid to hide their corruption.”
“We won’t let happen the constitutional amendment,” said Ayub.
– 'No mandate' –
Separately, few days back, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that the incumbent government was "not having the mandate to approve the constitutional package.”
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV following the parliament sessions were postponed, Khan said: “In the in-camera briefing, all the things cannot be discussed. You [government] are not having the mandate pertaining to the judiciary. We want to hold talks on this.”
Khan stated: “We are having the question that on which topic do we have to discuss? What else do we talk with you [the government] without the constitutional amendment draft?”
