Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari lamented on Friday the decision of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to stage a protest on October 15 at D-Chowk during the forthcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, the former foreign minister said: “The PTI needs to take a right decision. Staging the protest during the visits of the Chinese premier and other heads of state will harm the country.”
In connection with the constitutional amendment, Bhutto-Zardari said: “The number games are complete. The constitutional amendment can also take place before October 25.”
“The government wants to take all the political parties on board despite having the majority. Hopefully, the meeting with the opposition parties will reap the benefits,” he added.
Bhutto-Zardari made it clear that the PTI had not come up with any proposal. He scoffed at the PTI, saying, “On one side, the PTI is looking to seek time. On the other side, the PTI talks to sabotage the amendment.”
“We are ready to talk, but the PTI should come up with its draft,” he said.
He said: “It will be a huge achievement to bring change in the judicial system.”
