Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Monday that Pakistan is ready to hold trade talks with India.
Speaking exclusively on the Samaa TV programme, Dar said: “It is welcoming that Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SIC) moot is happening in Pakistan. It had been said that Pakistan was diplomatically facing isolation globally.”
He lamented: “Whenever we look to emerge as the economic power, efforts have been done to drag the country to doldrums. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission should be formed pertaining to the economy.”
Dar questioned: “The question is that how the economy that was placed on the 24th number had reached the 47th number?”
Talking about the constitutional amendment, Dar said: “We are not in a hurry to go for the constitutional amendment.”
He lashed out at the opponents, saying, “We are not inept like our predecessors. Why the action had not been taken against those who were involved in terrorism in the previous government.”
“It doesn’t matter if the constitution amendment is not discussed before the new judge,” he said.
Dar maintained: “All the problems surfaced due to the 2011 public gathering in Lahore.”
“It is not a good sign to feel that you are superior to the country,” he stated.
He said, “Today, the country is witnessing a drop in the inflation as the economy is on the verge of revival.”
Highlighting the situation of Palestine and Lebanon, Dar said: “We are assisting the Palestinians at the governmental level. The premier had also established the relief fund for Palestine and Lebanon.”
