Punjab Environment Protection Department has issued instructions to relevant institutions to implement urgent measures in response to the rising air pollution levels.
With the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 150 in Lahore, the government has announced changes to school timings to protect children and the elderly from the harmful effects of smog.
From October 28th to January 31st, 2025, schools in Lahore will begin no earlier than 8 a.m., with all outdoor activities suspended to limit children's exposure to polluted air.
Students are required to assemble indoors, and authorities have urged the public to adopt protective measures, including wearing masks and monitoring daily AQI levels through the Environment Protection Department app.
