Justice Mansoor Ali Shah to leave for Umrah on Thursday (October 24) following the appointment of Justice Yahya Afridi as the chief justice of Pakistan.
Sources divulged that Justice Shah will not be able to attend the farewell reference of outgoing CJP Justice Qazi Faez’s farewell reference. Justice Shah will be flanked by his family members to perform Umrah.
Meanwhile, CJP Isa will hear the cases in Courtroom No 1 tomorrow.
Earlier on Tuesday, the parliamentary committee had nominated Justice Afridi as the 30th chief justice of Pakistan.
Subsequently, the president's approval, the Ministry of Law and Justice issued a formal notification. Justice Afridi will take the oath of office on October 26.
