Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced on Thursday the inclusion of students from other provinces in the Honhaar Scholarship Programme.
In a meeting held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a one-day Vice-Chancellor Conference, a Tech Expo, and the formal approval of the Hunarhar Scholarship for second, third, and fourth-year students took place
She directed the establishment of a special helpline for scholarship-related inquiries.
CM Maryam increased the number of laptops for students to 110,000.
She said that education and youth served as the true assets of the nation. “I wish every child could receive a laptop.
The Honhaar Scholarship Programme and laptops are the right of every student and the responsibility of the government,” she said.
She emphasised that students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also their children.
“I think like a mother. We want to change the destiny of every child. Any student securing merit should apply to a good college, and the government will bear the fees,” she said.
CM Maryam ordered the establishment of a special helpline for students under the scholarship and laptop scheme.
Additionally, Punjab set a minimum eligibility criterion of 65% marks to obtain a laptop.
