Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur insisted on Thursday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers to pour on to streets from every nook and cranny of the country for staging the protests on February 8 (Saturday).
According to details, in a video statement, Gandapur said: "Every Pakistani should stage protest against the snatching of the public mandate. The overseas Pakistanis should also stage protests on February 8."
Recalling the elections in 1971, Gandapur said: "The country was divided when the mandate was snatched in 1971.'
"We are going to protest a big public gathering in Swabi on February 8," Gandapur added.
The KP CM urged the party workers to join the rally in Swabi.
The district administration was looking to implement the court's order in line with the PTI protests.
According to details, the meeting was held at the Lahore DC office to discuss the PTI protests.
The court had ordered the Lahore deputy commissioner to make the decision of giving the PTI permission of hold the gathering till 5:00 pm.
However, the decision had not been made despite the meeting at the Lahore DC office.
The PTI Punjab chapter revealed its plan for February 8, with protests set to take place in every provincial and national assembly constituency across the province.
Sources divulged that the members of the provincial assembly and ticket holders were instructed to lead rallies in their respective constituencies.
It had been decided that an alternative venue for the public gathering would not be accepted under any circumstances.
The sources added that, due to concerns over possible arrests, the locations of the protests scheduled for February 8 would be kept confidential.
