Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal condemned the opposition's claims of electoral rigging, labelling the accusations as fabricated.
Expressing his thoughts, Iqbal said: "Such allegations are being made through the creation of false forms, aimed at undermining the credibility of the current government."
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart said, "If an inexperienced person runs a country, an accident is bound to occur."
He questioned: "How the country had been pushed into inflation and unemployment?"
Iqbal said: "There is no project associated with the opposition's leadership that had received the mark of a true founder. "Whenever the PML-N has been in power, the country’s development has resumed," he claimed.
"The progress made under their leadership had been halted after the 2018 elections, as projects initiated by the PML-N were abandoned by the new government," said Iqbal.
The minister highlighted that the public had decisively rejected the enemies of progress in the last elections, with voters opting for continued development. He said, "The noise about rigging is unfounded; the lion always works for the development of the country."
Iqbal questioned the opposition’s track record during their four years in power, asking, "What did they do for Pakistan?"
He further criticised the opposition for failing to deliver on their promises, saying, "Did they even create 100,000 jobs, let alone one crore?" He also condemned the way in which jobs had been taken away from those who previously held them.
The planning minister also lamented the destruction of political discourse due to the spread of falsehoods on social media.
He likened the opposition's tactics to a drama, stating, "The PTI’s political reality is zero. We do politics of action, not social media." Iqbal accused them of presenting fake images to portray successful rallies and insisted that these tactics were nothing more than a charade.
"Claims of rigging are made through fabricated forms," Iqbal continued, "and they are uncomfortable because Pakistan is on the path to development."
He suggested that their real frustration stemmed from the rising foreign investments in the country, questioning, "Why are they bothered by Pakistan's progress?"
Iqbal said: "How can such people rebel against their own nation?"
He assured the public that they had become wise to the opposition’s lies and would not be misled.
