Light rain and snowfall continue to transform the upper regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) into a winter wonderland, dropping temperatures and attracting tourists from across the country.
In Azad Kashmir, Neelum Valley has been experiencing light snowfall since the morning, while lower areas, including Leepa Valley and Jhelum Valley, are witnessing light rain. Snow has also blanketed the Ganja and Makra mountain peaks near Muzaffarabad.
The Met Department predicts that this wet spell will persist for the next two to three days.
Meanwhile, in KP, Dir district and surrounding areas have received significant rainfall, while snowfall in the upper regions, including Lowari Tunnel, Kumrat, and Dog Darra, has intensified the cold. Authorities confirm that the Lowari Tunnel remains open for traffic between Chitral and Dir.
Swat Valley’s Malam Jabba has also welcomed a fresh spell of snowfall, turning it into a breathtaking sight for tourists who have flocked to the region to enjoy the winter charm. Meteorologists expect the snowfall to continue for at least another 24 hours.
Similarly, Mansehra's Kaghan Valley, including popular tourist destinations like Shogran and Kaghan, has also been covered in snow, further enhancing the region’s scenic beauty.
The ongoing rain and snowfall are expected to continue for the next few days, prompting authorities to advise travelers to exercise caution while heading to hilly areas.
