Justice (retd) Shaiq Usmani said on Tuesday that no one should have the courage to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme "Nadeem Malik Live", Usmani raised significant concerns about the growing trend of judicial involvement in political matters and the influence of social media on judges.
He emphasised that the Chief Justice did not require meetings with anyone, noting, "The Chief Justice should not need meetings with anyone." Justice (retd) Usmani pointed out that, nowadays, judges had become increasingly influenced by social media, which in turn affected their professional conduct. "Judges are now influenced by social media," he said.
The former justice warned that such influence had caused judges to become involved in politics. "Judges, by engaging with the public, get involved in politics," he remarked.
