Multan Police made a significant breakthrough in the fight against the illegal kite trade, seizing more than Rs10million worth of kites and metallic strings.
According to details, a raid was conducted at a kite-making factory in the Shah Rukn-e-Alam area, leading to the recovery of over 300,000 kites and more than 10,000 metallic strings.
The seized items were valued at over Rs10 million. According to Multan City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, this raid marked the largest operation of its kind in the past 50 years.
"The scale of this operation is unprecedented in the history of our efforts," CPO Dogar commented.
Two suspects, identified as Basharat and Muhammad Ali, were arrested during the operation.
Police authorities emphasised that the crackdown on illegal kite production would continue in the region.
