National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub confirmed on Thursday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had sent a dossier and a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission.
Speaking on Samaa TV programme, "Nadeem Malik Live," Ayub said that the letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, along with the dossier, had been forwarded to the IMF delegation.
"The letter and the dossier were sent to the IMF mission, which also included the report of the Petten and the covering letter," Ayub said during his appearance.
The opposition leader explained that the letter highlighted key concerns regarding governance, rule of law, and transparency.
"The letter raised issues of human rights violations taking place in the country," Ayub noted, adding that the dossier contained evidence regarding alleged electoral rigging.
Ayub stated that the letter addressed the incidents of 26 November and 9 May, particularly concerning the founder of PTI and political prisoners.
He added that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Ali Zafar were scheduled to meet the IMF mission separately, where the two party members would present all the pertinent facts.
Ayub recalled that two years ago, an IMF delegation had met with PTI founder Imran Khan, during which the latter had emphasised the need for transparent elections, which he claimed had not taken place.
