Sindh Building Control Authority former director general (DG) Rasheed Solangi had been barred from travelling abroad after an inquiry was initiated against him.
The authorities included his name on the passport control list to prevent his departure. Solangi, who retired last week after completing his term, faces accusations of approving illegal multi-storey buildings during his tenure.
These approvals are at the centre of an ongoing investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A senior official stated, "This action was taken in response to the NAB inquiry concerning the illegal building approvals."
