A devastating road accident near Azeer Farm in Layyah has claimed the lives of four individuals — including three brothers — leaving a family and the entire community in mourning.
The tragic collision occurred at around 3 AM when a truck crashed into a tractor-trolley, killing Muhammad Younis (35), Muhammad Rafi (33), Muhammad Yousuf (26), and their cousin Shahid Abbas (20). One individual survived but sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
Rescue 1122 teams and local police responded swiftly to the accident site, providing medical aid and transporting the injured to healthcare facilities. The deceased were handed over to their grieving family. The accident has left Allah Dad, the father of the three brothers, devastated, as his sons were the primary breadwinners of the household.
District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Ali Waseem initiated a donation drive to support the bereaved family. He appealed to police personnel, lawyers, local business owners, and philanthropists, raising an impressive Rs 6 million within hours.
DPO Waseem personally visited the family alongside senior officials to offer condolences and ensure continued support. The collected funds were handed over to Allah Dad, with an inspector assigned to oversee the establishment of a secure bank account for proper fund management. The financial aid aims to secure the education and welfare of the orphaned children, providing stability in the face of this tragic loss.
The accident serves as a grim reminder of road safety concerns, but the overwhelming community support led by DPO Waseem highlights the power of collective compassion and resilience in times of crisis.
