Rainfall graced on Thursday various cities of the country, with light and heavy showers seen in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.
According to details, the rains brought a welcome drop in temperature and increased the chill in the air.
In Punjab, several cities, including Lahore,Mianwali, Attock, Chakwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and Gujrat, witnessed heavy downpours.
The sudden showers led to a noticeable dip in temperature. Light drizzles continued intermittently in surrounding areas.
Balochistan’s different regions, including Mastung, Kohlu, Quetta, and Jhal Magsi also experienced the rain, causing an increase in the cold.
The citizens' faces lit up with joy as the clouds unleashed their downpours.
In Sindh, the city of Khairpur and its surrounding areas were not spared either. The rain in the region had a noticeable impact, bringing a sense of calm to the otherwise dry climate.
Meanwhile, in Kohat, intermittent rainfall and snowfall continued throughout the day, further reducing the temperatures.
Quetta's rainfall brings disruptions
The heavy rainfall in Quetta and surrounding areas resulted in low-lying areas being submerged.
Streets in the city transformed into small lakes, with many areas inundated, as water poured from overflowing drains.
Residents faced significant difficulties as the city's drainage system was unable to cope with the downpour.
One local resident remarked, "The poor sewage system has exacerbated the situation, and we have faced enormous challenges because of it."
The provincial government and local administration came under severe criticism from the public, who demanded improvements.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that Quetta and other regions in Balochistan would continue to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds.
Phool Nagar, surrounding areas see intermittent showers
Phool Nagar: Since the morning, intermittent rainfall had continued, bringing a sudden drop in temperature.
The rain, accompanied by strong winds, revitalised the cool weather.
However, power supply was disrupted in several areas due to the rain.

The rain continued in Khairpur and its surrounding areas, with light showers in localities like Pir Goth, Priyalobanara, and Baber Lo.
