Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted an Iftar dinner at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday in honour of a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) delegation, led by its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif lauded the leadership of the PPP for its continuous cooperation with the federal government and its active role in improving the lives of ordinary citizens across all four provinces. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federation, provinces, and political parties to ensure a prosperous future for the country.
The PPP delegation, led by Bilawal Bhutto, expressed its full confidence in the government's policies, particularly its economic strategies aimed at stabilizing the country. The delegation acknowledged the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team in achieving economic stability and working for the welfare of the common people.
The delegation raised concerns about several ongoing issues, including objections to controversial canals and the poor law and order situation in Kurram district. They also brought up the lack of justice and support for flood victims in Balochistan, stressing the urgency of addressing these matters.
In response, PM Shehbaz assured the PPP delegation that their reservations would be addressed. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving the disputes regarding the canals and assured that the concerns regarding the security situation in Kurram district and the plight of flood victims in Balochistan would be prioritized.
The PPP delegation thanked the prime minister for consulting the government’s allies and taking them into confidence. It reiterated its commitment to providing full support for the development of the country's economy under the PM’s leadership.
