Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will contest elections for the general seat.
Speaking to media at Model Town in Lahore, the former interior minister said the PML-N supremo will soon hold the meetings with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and the other political parties.
‘’There is no legal obstacle for Nawaz Sharif to take part in the general elections. Nawaz Sharif will remain the party chief, and Shehbaz Sharif will continue to serve the PML-N as the party president,’’ Sanaullah stated.
Speaking about the possibility of talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sanaullah stated, ‘’The PML-N is ready to hold talks with those leaders of the PTI who were not involved in the May 9 mayhem, for the sake of the economic revival.’’

‘’The national and international laws are there to bring Farah Gogi back to the country. The investigative institutions are working in this regard,’’ Sanaullah stated.
He expressed his thoughts about the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), saying, ‘’PPP Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has the right to create obstacles for Lahore's premier and pave the way for Larkana’s prime minister.’’
– South Punjab's political landscape –
PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the party stalwarts exchanged views on the political landscape of South Punjab.
The former prime minister presided over the key meeting at the Punjab Governor House. On this occasion, the PML-N leadership discussed in detail the matters pertaining to South Punjab’s political landscape.
Nawaz Sharif had instructed the PML-N leaders to engage actively in the political landscape of South Punjab.
The PML-N supremo had also urged the need for speeding up contacts with the local leadership in this regard.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, Abdul Rehman Kanju and Pervaiz Rashid.
