Axl Rose, the iconic frontman of Guns N' Roses, finds himself at the center of a legal storm as a lawsuit filed in New York supreme court alleges a violent sexual assault dating back to 1989.
Sheila Kennedy, a former Penthouse model, claims that Rose subjected her to a traumatic experience in his New York hotel room.
The lawsuit details Kennedy's account of meeting Rose at a nightclub, where he allegedly invited her to his hotel room but excluded her friend on the basis of physical appearance.
Kennedy, then around 26 years old, states that upon returning to Rose's room with future MTV host Riki Rachtman, the atmosphere took a dark turn.
Rose purportedly provided cocaine and alcohol before forcibly imposing himself on Kennedy in a violent encounter she asserts was non-consensual.
Kennedy, despite acknowledging Rose's attractiveness, insists that she did not consent to the subsequent assault. Shockingly, she claims to have witnessed Rose subjecting another model to aggressive and uncomfortable sexual activity, prompting her to leave the room.
However, the lawsuit alleges that Rose later confronted her in Rachtman's room, leading to a physical altercation where Kennedy was pushed to the floor, dragged, and ultimately raped.
The legal filing asserts that Kennedy suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)-like symptoms following the incident, with ongoing anxiety and depression significantly impacting her career.
Seeking unspecified damages, the lawsuit includes charges of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and gender-motivated violence.
