In the first quarter of 2024, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) secured the top spot for the most potent travel document globally, according to the rankings released by Arton Capital. The UAE passport allows holders visa-free access to an impressive 180 countries, marking it as the most influential passport for international travel.
Following closely behind in second place are Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, granting citizens of these nations the freedom to travel to 178 countries without a visa. Meanwhile, passports from Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland hold the third position, enabling their holders to visit 177 countries visa-free.
Notably, passports from Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, and South Korea share the joint fourth position, allowing visa-free access to 176 countries.
Sharing the fifth spot are Singapore, Greece, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Hungary, Japan, and New Zealand, where passport holders can enter 175 countries without a visa, placing them at the 94th overall position.
In contrast, Pakistani passport holders have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 47 countries, placing them at the 94th overall position. Pakistan's ranking is positioned below Somalia (95th), Iraq (96th), Afghanistan (97th), and Syria (98th), but slightly ahead of Yemen (93rd), Bangladesh (92nd), Libya, and Palestine (91st). Additionally, Sudan, Eritrea, and Iran rank 90th, with passports perceived as more influential for global travel than Pakistan's passport.
These rankings highlight the varying degrees of global mobility granted by different passports, significantly impacting international travel opportunities for citizens worldwide.
