The Supreme Court’s verdict on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) intra-party elections has sparked a fresh round of political barbs, with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marriyum Aurangzeb launching a scathing attack against the ousted party.
Reacting to the Supreme Court's decision, she emphasized the importance of adherence to the law and the electoral code of conduct for all political parties.
Speaking about the consequences of delayed elections, she stated that timely elections would have averted the current situation.
In reference to the party’s situation, she attributed it to the alleged duplicity of the PTI founder, pointing out that Chief Justice had been seeking evidence for three days. Maryam Aurangzeb dismissed alternate plans (Plan B, Plan C, and Plan D) presented by PTI, claiming they lacked substance.
Critiquing the preparations for Plan B, she compared it to the effort invested in ensuring fair intra-party elections. Drawing attention to the Senate election, Maryam Aurangzeb accused certain individuals of being preoccupied with celebrations while alleged rigging was taking place. Concluding her remarks, she called for all parties to conduct elections in accordance with the prescribed code of conduct.
