Syed Qalb Abbas Shah, a prominent leader from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Rawalpindi, has joined the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) just days before the upcoming elections.
The announcement of his support for Raja Pervez Ashraf, the PPP candidate, was warmly welcomed by the former speaker of the National Assembly, himself.
Expressing optimism about Syed Qalb Abbas Shah’s decision to join the PPP, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that it would bode well for the party.
During a meeting with PML-N leader, he urged the people of Gujar Khan to cast their votes for the PPP in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that it would contribute to the development and prosperity of the area.
Ashraf highlighted the rights bestowed upon the people of Gujar Khan by the PPP, asserting that no other party has matched these contributions.
It’s noteworthy that Raja Pervez Ashraf is contesting the election from NA-52 Gujra Khan on the PPP ticket, while his son, Khurram Pervez Raja, is contesting from PP-8. The electoral competition includes Muhammad Javed Ikhlas from PML-N.
As the political landscape intensifies, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has repeatedly emphasized during the election campaign that the forthcoming general elections will witness a formidable contest between the PPP and PML-N, alluding to the significant political rivalry after PTI lost the symbol of the bat.
