The residence of Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has been declared a sub-jail and his wife Bushra Bibi has been shifted to Bani Gala under tight security after the accountability court sentenced her to 14 years in prison in the Toshakhana reference.
A notification has also been issued to declare Bani Gala as a sub-jail for former first lady Bushra Bibi and the prison staff has also been posted in Bani Gala.
Earlier today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Biba were sentenced to 14 years in jail by the Accountability Court judge Muhammad Bashir in the Toshakhana case.
Similarly, Bushra Bibi, after her conviction in the Toshakhana reference, has been transferred to Bani Gala, with the area itself now classified as a sub-jail. The presence of prison staff in Bani Gala reinforces the security measures surrounding Bushra Bibi's confinement.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi was arrested upon the court’s verdict and taken into custody by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team at Adiala Jail. The sentencing handed down by Accountability Court judge Muhammad Bashir saw Imran Khan receiving a 10-year disqualification from holding public office, along with a hefty fine of Rs 1.573 billion imposed on both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
