Following the decision in Punjab, educational institutions across Sindh will also observe a four-day closure from February 6 to 9 in light of the upcoming general elections in Pakistan.
As per the directive issued by the Sindh Education Department, all private and public schools, colleges, and universities will remain shuttered during this period to accommodate the electoral process.
Students in Sindh will enjoy a total of nine consecutive holidays, including the preceding Sunday and Saturday. Similarly, after February 9, there will be additional holidays on February 10 and 11, coinciding with the weekend.
Furthermore, February 5 has already been declared a holiday in Sindh in observance of Kashmir Day.
The decision to close educational institutions during the election period was ratified by Chief Minister Maqbool Baqir after the approval of the summary of holidays for both government and private educational institutions in Sindh.
This decision aligns with the Punjab Cabinet's resolution announced earlier, which mandated the closure of schools, colleges, and universities from February 6 to 9 to facilitate the electoral process.
With preparations in full swing, the country is gearing up for the general elections scheduled to take place on February 8.
