Jamaat-e-Islami, a prominent religious-political party in Pakistan, held an emergency meeting of its Central Majlis Shura on Saturday to discuss their recent meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Spokesperson Qaiser Sharif presented a detailed report on the meeting with the PTI leadership in Islamabad. He confirmed that both parties discussed the contentious issue of alleged rigging in the recent general elections.
Sharif reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s stance against the alleged manipulation of election results and announced that protests demanding democratic rights and fair elections will continue.
Despite differences over the meeting, Sharif emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami's relationship with the PTI would remain intact. This statement suggests the parties may find common ground in their opposition to the alleged irregularities.
In further development, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq is scheduled to address the media in a press conference on Sunday at 3 pm, as announced by the spokesperson. This conference is anticipated to shed more light on the outcomes of the meeting and the party's stance on pertinent issues.
