The Rawalpindi administration took a decision and declare emergency in amid heavy rain spell that has been continued in the twin cities — Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
So far, 30 mm of rain has been recorded in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
WASA imposed rain emergency in Rawalpindi and canceled the leave of staffers and field workers for the smooth disposal of rain water into the drains avoiding any untoward incident.
Despite continuous rain, the flow of water in the Nala Lai is normal and so far water level is 5 feet at Katarian while four feet at Golmandi Bridge, as per the Meteorological Department.

As per the Weather office, heavy rain/snowfall may disrupt and cause closure of roads in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Astore, Hunza, Diamir, Skardu, Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch and Havellian from 19th and 20th February. Possibility of landslides in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan cannot be ruled out during the forecast period.
The weather office forcasted more rain wind-thunderstorm (snowfall over hills) is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, northeast Punjab and northern Balochistan. Isolated hailstorm is also expected during the forecast period.
