The 485th birth anniversary (Joti Jot) celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji concluded with the Bhog Akhand Paath at Gurudwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur.
On the final day, a statue of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's close associate Bhai Mardana was unveiled by the Chairman of the Mutukah Waqf Property Board Syed Attaur Rehman along with Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Pradhan Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora.
The three-day celebration saw participation from a large number of Pakistani and Indian Sikh pilgrims.
The statue was installed in "Bhai Ajitaji Bazar" within the Gurudwara premises, symbolizing the long-standing Sikh-Muslim friendship.
"By installing the statue of Bhai Mardana, a Muslim companion of Guru Nanak, Pakistan has demonstrated a fine example of interfaith harmony," said Dr. Atta-ul-Rehman.
The event also featured the launch of a new agricultural initiative. ETPB Chairman Syed Attaur Rehman inaugurated the cultivation of vegetables on 3 acres of land at Babaji’s farm using the Seniorgenic method.
The vegetables harvested from this land will be used in the Langar (community kitchen) of Gurudwara Sahib, supporting its ongoing service to pilgrims.
Indian pilgrims visiting through the Kartarpur Corridor received Prasad of fruits grown in “Babaji’s Garden,” named after Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The Kartarpur Corridor, a landmark initiative that allows Sikhs from India to visit the sacred site without a visa, was hailed as “the best gift to the Sikh nation across the world,” by the chairman of the ETBP.
Other key figures present at the event included Board Secretary Farid Iqbal, Parliamentary Secretary Sonia Asher, Project Management Unit (PMU) In-Charge and Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar, along with members of PSGPC.
The celebrations concluded on a note of unity and reverence, further solidifying the significance of the Kartarpur Corridor as a symbol of cross-border religious harmony.
