The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Thursday confirmed the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of Jumadi al-Thani in the Islamic calendar year 1445 Hijri.
The central meeting held in the nation's capital was complemented by simultaneous meetings of zonal committees in major cities including Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar. Witnesses presented their testimonies, contributing to the committee's decision to officially declare the start of Jumadi al-Thani.
Chairman Abdul Khabeer, leading the Rawit Hilal Committee, expressed gratitude for the collective effort in determining the lunar sighting. He announced that the first day of Jumadi al-Thani would fall on Friday, December 15, aligning with the Islamic calendar.
In response to this celestial event, the Ministry of Religious Affairs promptly issued an official notification, affirming the committee's decision and acknowledging the commencement of Jumadi al-Thani.
Jumadi al-Thani holds particular importance in the Islamic calendar, and its advent is met with increased prayers, reflection, and a sense of community among the faithful.
