In a recent report by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), the country witnessed a 12.30% year-on-year decline in the sales of motorcycles and rickshaws during the first five months of the current financial year (FY) from July to November 2023.
The data indicates that a total of 459,459 units of motorcycles and rickshaws were sold in the mentioned period, marking a significant decrease compared to the 523,936 units recorded in the same timeframe of the preceding fiscal year.
Honda motorcycles: Sales figures for Honda motorcycles reveal a 9% decline, with 398,303 units sold in the first five months of FY 2023 compared to 437,708 units in the same period of the previous fiscal year. This reflects a 65.48% decrease in sales compared to the competition.
Yamaha: Yamaha faced a dip in sales as well, recording 3,896 units sold in the current financial year's initial five months, in contrast to the 5,796 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Road Prince: The sales of Road Prince motorcycles experienced a notable drop, with 6,974 units sold from July to November 2023, compared to 14,540 units in the same period last fiscal year.
United motorcycles: United reported sales of 36,807 units in the first five months of FY 2023, representing a 9.12% decline from the 40,504 units sold in the same period of the preceding financial year.
Aside from motorcycles, the statistics also reveal sales figures for unique vehicles, with United 3-wheelers, Nasagar, and Qing Che recording 393 units, 4,653 units, and 1,910 units, respectively, during the mentioned period.
