The Special Operations Rangers School, previously the Rangers Battle School, underscores its dedication to combating terrorism. Established on June 6th, 2014, at "Rakh Terah" in Lahore, the school signifies a pivotal development in elite commando training.
Under the leadership of Lt. Col. Haroon Shaheed, the school commenced its operations in November 2003 with a clear mission: to confront terrorism effectively. Since then, it has evolved into a premier institution, renowned for its rigorous training programs and state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition to comprehensive commando training, the school offers specialized courses such as sniper training, operational readiness protocols, and anti-riot tactics. Its facilities include an assault course, a boxing ring, skeet shooting ranges, rappelling towers, firing ranges, and anti-terrorist and urban combat training complexes. A maintained 1780-meter running track further enhances physical fitness training.
The impact of the Special Operations Rangers School extends far and wide, with 2360 Punjab Rangers having undergone rigorous training within its confines. Furthermore, the school shares its expertise beyond military boundaries, having trained personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including FC, Punjab Police, Jail Police, Walled City Police, and Customs officials, totaling 240 individuals.
