Key video evidence has surfaced recently, exposing violent elements disguised as peaceful protesters during the recent unrest in Islamabad.
The footage reveals rioters crossing all limits in their attacks against state police officers. One clip shows a group of assailants detaining an Islamabad police officer, with reports confirming that the officer was beaten, held hostage, and subjected to mistreatment.
Law enforcement has recovered weapons from arrested individuals, including pistols, ammunition, gas masks, and knives. Forensic analysis and geofencing are being utilized to take legal action against those involved in the unrest. Authorities have reiterated that any form of violence under the guise of protest will not be tolerated.
The unrest, led by rioters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the death of police constable Abdul Hameed Shah, who was kidnapped and tortured.
Shah succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The violent protest also left over 70 police officers injured, as rioters launched attacks on law enforcement and vandalized public property.
