At least nine civilians were martyred and 16 others sustained injuries after security forces foiled a terrorist attack on Bannu Cantt, killing six militants in the process.
According to security sources, the terrorists attempted to infiltrate Bannu Cantt shortly after Iftar on the day of the incident. However, their plan failed due to the swift and decisive action of the security forces.
In their panic, the terrorists rammed two explosive-laden vehicles into the Cantt's wall, causing devastating explosions.
The explosions resulted in significant damage to a nearby mosque.
Reports also indicated that the roof of a nearby house collapsed, leading to the martyrdom of nine civilians and injuries to 16 others.
Sources confirmed that six militants were killed at various entry points by alert security personnel, while the remaining terrorists were confined to a specific area.
The security forces' clearance operation is ongoing, with sources stating that it would continue until all militants are eliminated.
