In a decisive move against smuggling operations, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North intercepted and thwarted a major attempt to smuggle millions of liters of Iranian diesel into Punjab.
The illegal consignment, estimated to be three lakh liters, was intercepted by FC personnel during an anti-smuggling operation on January 30, 2024, along the national highway in the Muslim Bagh district of Balochistan.
The FC Balochistan North has been actively engaged in a relentless crackdown against trafficking activities, and this recent operation stands as a testament to their commitment to curbing illegal practices.
The intercepted Iranian diesel, concealed within six trucks, was destined for Punjab before the vigilant FC personnel intervened.
In a statement released by FC Balochistan North, details of the smuggling attempt were disclosed. The smugglers, in a daring move, sought to transport the significant quantity of Iranian diesel through the national highway. FC personnel, acting on intelligence and their vigilant operations, successfully halted the convoy in the Muslim Bagh district.
After a thorough inspection and apprehension of the smugglers, FC jawans seized the entire illegal consignment. The confiscated Iranian diesel, running into millions of liters, has been handed over to the concerned authorities following the necessary legal procedures. This interception not only deals a blow to smuggling operations but also prevents the influx of illegal goods that could potentially disrupt local markets.
The successful operation underscores the significance of the FC's ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and combat illicit activities in the region.
The authorities remain steadfast in their determination to safeguard national interests and ensure the security and well-being of the citizens. The intercepted Iranian diesel serves as a stark reminder that such attempts will be met with swift and resolute action by the law enforcement agencies operating in the region.
